Sample HOSA Meeting Agendas

Strong, well-structured meetings are the foundation of a successful HOSA chapter. To help advisors and officers plan engaging and productive gatherings, we’ve compiled a series of sample agendas tailored to different times of the year. These agendas provide a framework for keeping members informed, involved, and inspired—whether you’re kicking off the school year, preparing for conferences, or celebrating accomplishments.

Browse the examples below to find ideas, adapt them to your chapter’s needs, and ensure your meetings support both leadership development and HOSA’s mission of empowering future health professionals.

Sample Agenda 1 - Introduction Meeting

For this section we can provide guidance on how the beginning of the year can look in terms of introducing boards, informing on dues/costs early in the year, collecting dues, signing members up for clubs etc. especially for newer/smaller chapters

Sample Agenda 2 - Event Information and Signups

This meeting builds on the introduction by focusing on competitive events. Members should be finalizing registration, paying dues, and selecting events. Officers should provide support to help students make informed choices and feel confident about their decisions.

Sample Agenda 3 - Pre-RLC/State Information Meeting

Your chapter will already be planning a meeting before RLC and/or States to run over basic logistics. Here is a basic agenda for one such meeting. Don’t forget to get your members excited!

Sample Meeting 4 - Post State Meeting Celebration

To wrap up the Michigan HOSA season, consider hosting a final chapter meeting before ILC for members to bond, celebrate accomplishments, be recognized, and reflect on experiences from states.

Sample Meeting 5 - Guest Speaker Panel

HOSA meetings don’t just have to be informational. We encourage you to frame some meeting around educating students on health career events. One of the most interesting and educational ways to go around this is through a guest speaker. This meeting highlights a specific healthcare career through a guest speaker or panel of professionals. It gives members a chance to learn about real-world experiences and ask questions.

Sample Meeting 6 - Post State Meeting Celebration

HOSA meetings can also be focused on serving your community! Service and community engagement are two key pillars of global health leadership. This method gives you flexibility, both in your approach and target audience. This engagement will give your members the opportunity to interact with their community hands-on, and bolster your chapter’s impact.
